The ODA Leadership Academy runs on a calendar year basis, starting in January and concluding in December.
Over the course of a year, participants are required to complete a minimum of four immersion experiences. Three offerings are predetermined. The additional offerings are customized based on area(s) of interest.
Participation is required in the following three ODA offerings:
- Oregon Dental Conference (April 2-4 in Portland)
- Board of Trustees Meeting as Non-Voting Guest (January, March, July and September options)
- House of Delegates (September 26 in Central Oregon)
Additional immersion experiences include offerings within the following areas:
- Government Affairs
- Student/New Dentist
When applicable, immersion experiences will include a group component, to encourage connections and idea sharing among participants.
After completion of each immersion experience, participants will be asked to complete a short survey providing feedback for enhancements.
In addition to immersion experiences, participants will be provided with leadership education opportunities and supplemental reading materials for additional exposure and growth.
At the completion of the program, participants will be presented with a completion plaque. Following graduation of the Academy, ODA staff will conduct a debrief with each participate to help them navigate current leadership opportunities for continued involvement.
