Implant Therapy for the Edentulous: Enhancing Successful Outcomes-Workshop

This course will provide an overview of the appropriate techniques and prosthetic applications to treat partially and fully edentulous patients. Participants will discuss the importance of patient selection criteria, surgical planning considerations and the latest prosthetic components available for the edentulous patient. A systematic approach of ideal esthetic treatment for the partially or fully edentulous patient will be presented, emphasizing communication with all parties involved to create the desired restorative result for the patient. Both the new and experienced clinician will benefit from this course, as participants will discuss the benefits of implant-supported dentures in comparison with conventional denture treatment. Scientific, technical, and practical issues will be addressed from a clinical viewpoint, provideing immediate benefits to everyday practice.

At the conclusion of this course, attendees will be able to:

  • Define patient selection criteria for successful implant therapy
  • Communicate with all partners in implant treatment
  • Provide quality patient education throughout the treatment planning stage
  • Convert a mandibular completed denture into an implant supported overdenture
  • Understand benefits of implant supported overdenture treatments

 

Dr. El-Ebrashi obtained his dental degree from the University of Newcastle, U.K. in 1993. After working in private practice, he completed his Prosthodontic residency at The University of Michigan, and received a Master of Science in 1998. Dr. El-Ebrashi is a board certified Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics and the American Board of Oral Implantology. He served as Assistant Professor and Director of Pre-Clinical Removable Prosthodontics at Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU) from 2002-2006. Dr. El-Ebrashi maintains a private practice in the Portland, Oregon area.
