1. Sharpening Your HR Survival Tools
An HR Survival Toolkit is comprised of up to date management best practices and tools to help you avoid mismanagement traps. This session provides practical information to reduce your risk of legal liability and improve your bottom line. For the dentist and dental executive, providing excellent dental care and patient service is only part of the job. You must make the workplace safe, compliant and harassment-free. Motivating your employees and managing discipline issues requires an understanding of the legal guidelines regulating workplace practices. This session provides the nuts and bolts advice that promotes efficiency and compliance with state and federal employment laws.

Discussions include:

  • At-will employment and its exceptions
  • Hiring practices
  • Policies and employment handbooks
  • Progressive discipline and documentation
  • Writing effective warnings
  • Termination process
  • Post employment issues

2. HR Mismanagement Traps and Survival Strategies

Unlike the natural jungle setting on the TV Show "Survivor", your jungle is the HR trap that creates havoc for your business. This presentation will help you from being ensnared in a myriad of HR legal traps, keep your practice compliant and will include materials you can put to use.

The topics will include key mismanagement traps to avoid as well as other important topics such as:

  • So Many Federal and State Laws – Which Ones Apply?
  • Employment Handbook Basics
  • Employee Management and Documentation
  • Sexual Harassment Trip Ups
  • New Employment Laws and Your Policies
