Progressive Hygiene: Advanced concepts, technology, and technique

Learn how to take every day of clinical hygiene to a higher level of care and the patient to a higher level of health. Working with patients according to their specific, individual needs is the center of the hygienist’s practice. Success will depend on which evaluative tools and management strategies are used to determine those needs. Utilizing advanced concepts in assessment, with the advantages of new technology, allows the hygienist to plan and provide treatment with effective and efficient techniques.

This program is designed to improve the attendee’s ability to…
  • Understand current concepts of biofilm infection
  • Determine caries risk level according to CAMBRA
  • Treatment plan for caries management
  • Identify risks for periodontal disease of natural teeth and implants
  • List specific diagnostic information needed for periodontal diagnosis
  • Determine appropriate treatment for initial periodontal therapy
  • Design customized treatment for initial periodontal therapy utilizing lasers
  • View case studies and statistics of laser-assisted periodontal therapy
  • List criteria for continued care, re-treatment, or referral
