  1. Technology and Bonding: Synergy Personified

Dentin bonding is used every day in dentistry and yet, most practitioners do not understand the proper protocols and the science behind those protocols.  This presentation will discuss how and why dentin bonding works, and why technology such as lasers, CAD/CAM, and computer analyzed occlusion are essential to the practice of adhesive dentistry.

At the conclusion of this course the attendees should be able to:
  • Identify the different dentin bonding systems and there mechanism of action
  • Identify the differences in CAD/CAM systems
  • Identify those factors that contribute the successful bonding
  • Identify the role that occlusion plays and how to analyze via computer

  2. Lasers in Dentistry: Foundations in Technology

The use of lasers in dentistry is not new, nor is it limited to surgical procedures.  Diode and erbium lasers have the ability to impact the entire dental practice, from restorative dentistry and surgery.  This presentation will introduce lasers from an evidence based approach and show why lasers are essential to creating the ultimate minimally invasive practice.

At the conclusion of this course the attendees should be able to:
  • Identify the various dental lasers
  • Define and understand Photobiomodulation
  • Applications and techniques for the use of lasers in a dental practice
  • How lasers can be the foundation of a minimally invasive practice
