Tulen Self-Defense for Women

Increase your personal power!  3 Hours of Power is a fun, empowering self-defense course where women learn to respond to real-life situations.  Learn to trust your awareness, assess situations rapidly and respond consciously and strategically. Gain valuable information about violence prevention.  Learn to set boundaries.  Practice strong, assertive voice and body language and learn to strike with speed and commitment.  In just three hours you will feel stronger and have greater peace of mind.

At the conclusion of this course, attendees will be able to:

  • Recognize pre-assaultive and aggressive behavior 
  • Respond quickly and calmly using a variety of self-defense strategies including: assertive body language, de-escalating verbal techniques, and striking with speed and commitment
 
Katherine White is a 2nd degree black belt in the Indonesian martial art of Poekoelan Tjimindie Tulen with 17 years experience training and instructing martial arts. She has a personal commitment to providing women and children with training and skills to live with a sense of safety and well-being.  Katherine has instructed self-defense and anti-aggression workshops at businesses, colleges, schools, and community groups throughout the Portland area for over 10 years.
