If a medical emergency does occur in your office, preparation is the key. This course will emphasize recognition and prevention of complications that may lead to a medical emergency in your office. Dr. Howerton will discuss medical management of the office emergency. He will review the most recent American Heart Association guidelines for CPR and the role of an AED. This course meets the medical emergency requirement for the Oregon Board of Dentistry license renewal.
At the conclusion of this course, attendees will have a straightforward approach on how to handle various medical conditions or emergencies that they may encounter in the office.
David Howerton, DDS is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon practicing in Albany and Salem. He is an associate professor in the department of oral and maxillofacial surgery at the OHSU School of Dentistry. He graduated from OHSU School of Dentistry in 1983 and completed a general practice residency at Loma Linda Medical Center in 1984. He completed his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at OHSU in 1988.
