 Keeping out of HR Hot Water


In Keeping out of HR Hot Water, Mike Lehman will take you through a closer look behind employment lawsuits and some of the bigger HR issues facing today’s employers. Included will also be a section specifically dedicated to helping you keep your practice compliant including free materials you can actually put to use. At that time, special attention will also be paid to those hot button issues that may be occurring in your office and how to deal with them, including conflict resolution, a look at harassment, and at some effective skills for anyone in management. Concluding this session will be a special look at the changes from the most recent legislative session, as it concerns you and your responsibilities as an employer or manager.

 
Educational Objectives:
 
At the end of this course, attendees will be able to make better and quicker decisions as it relates to being an employer.  They will learn tips on hot button HR issues, plus receive documents that will help them keep their office in compliance with state and federal regulations.  Also, they will come away with a better understanding of common sense decision making that will help them avoid employee related litigation.

Mike Lehman, General Manager, with Cardinal since 1995.  Educated at Linfield College, Mr. Lehman has a B.S. in Liberal Arts and holds a Doctorate of Jurisprudence from Willamette University, 1978.  Mike served as Oregon State Representative from 1995-2001 and served two terms as Vice Chair of the House Transportation Committee, as well as serving on the 1999 Exit Budget Negotiation Team.  Mike served on the Coos Bay School Board of Directors, Oregon School Board of Directors and was a founder of the Coos County Methamphetamine Task Force.  He was recently elected to Chair the Coos County Airport District Commission.
