The ODA Leadership Academy runs on a calendar year basis, starting in January and concluding in December.
Over the course of a year, participants are required complete four immersion experiences. Three offerings are predetermined. The additional offering is customized based on a declared area of interest.
Participation is required in the following three ODA offerings:
- Oregon Dental Conference (April 5-7)
- Board of Trustees Meeting as Non-Voting Guest (January, March, May or September)
- House of Delegates (November)
Declared Areas of Interest:
- Government Affairs
- Student/New Dentist
When applicable, immersion experiences will include a group component, to encourage connections and idea sharing among participants.
After completion of each immersion experience, participants will be asked to complete a short survey providing feedback for enhancements.
In addition to immersion experiences, participants will be provided with leadership education opportunities and supplemental reading materials for additional exposure and growth.
At the completion of the program, participants will be presented with a certificate of completion and digital badge. Following graduation of the Academy, ODA staff will conduct a debrief with each participate to help them navigate current leadership opportunities for continued involvement.
